Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Improper Input Validation. An attacker can cause a denial of service by forcing a chain split on a network by sending two identical versions of a block that differ only in the exact set of outputs being spent. The project maintainers consider such an exploit "exceptionally difficult" to perform.
