CWE-770  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade quiche to version 0.29.3 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling in the path_event_next function. An attacker can exhaust memory resources by triggering rapid source address migration, leading to unbounded queuing of path events. This is only exploitable if the application does not regularly drain the PathEvent collection.

Workaround

This vulnerability can be mitigated by calling the path_event_next function to drain the PathEvent collection.
