CWE-121  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade serde_cbor to version 0.10.2 or higher.

Overview

serde_cbor is an implementation of Concise Binary Object Representation (CBOR) that is based on Serde, the generic serialization framework for Rust.

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Stack Overflow. The crate did not properly check if semantic tags were nested excessively during deserialization. This allows an attacker to craft small (< 1 kB) CBOR documents that cause a stack overflow.
