CWE-352  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade serde_yaml to version 0.8.4 or higher.

Overview

serde_yaml is a Rust library for using the Serde serialization framework with data in YAML file format.

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Deserialization of Untrusted Data. It did not properly check for recursion while deserializing aliases. This allows an attacker to make a YAML file with an alias referring to itself causing an abort.
