How to fix?

Upgrade surrealdb-core to version 2.0.4 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Uncaught Exception when calling Thing::try_from("") with an empty value.

Workaround

This vulnerability can be mitigated by limiting the ability of untrusted clients to run arbitrary SurrealQL queries in the affected versions of SurrealDB. Additionally, SurrealDB administrators are advised to ensure that the SurrealDB process is configured to automatically restart after a crash, which can help reduce the impact of the denial of service.
