CWE-863  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade SLES:15.0 ghostscript to version 9.27-3.21.1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream ghostscript package and not the ghostscript package as distributed by SLES. See How to fix? for SLES:15.0 relevant fixed versions and status.

A flaw was found in, ghostscript versions prior to 9.50, in the .pdf_hook_DSC_Creator procedure where it did not properly secure its privileged calls, enabling scripts to bypass -dSAFER restrictions. A specially crafted PostScript file could disable security protection and then have access to the file system, or execute arbitrary commands.
