CWE-203  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade SLES:15.0 openssh-helpers to version 7.6p1-9.38.1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream openssh-helpers package and not the openssh-helpers package as distributed by SLES. See How to fix? for SLES:15.0 relevant fixed versions and status.

The client side in OpenSSH 5.7 through 8.4 has an Observable Discrepancy leading to an information leak in the algorithm negotiation. This allows man-in-the-middle attackers to target initial connection attempts (where no host key for the server has been cached by the client). NOTE: some reports state that 8.5 and 8.6 are also affected.
