CWE-732  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade SLES:15.1 ghostscript-x11 to version 9.27-3.21.1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream ghostscript-x11 package and not the ghostscript-x11 package as distributed by SLES. See How to fix? for SLES:15.1 relevant fixed versions and status.

A flaw was found in all ghostscript versions 9.x before 9.50, in the .setuserparams2 procedure where it did not properly secure its privileged calls, enabling scripts to bypass -dSAFER restrictions. A specially crafted PostScript file could disable security protection and then have access to the file system, or execute arbitrary commands.
