How to fix?

Upgrade SLES:15.2 php7-ctype to version 7.4.33-150200.3.46.2 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream php7-ctype package and not the php7-ctype package as distributed by SLES. See How to fix? for SLES:15.2 relevant fixed versions and status.

The zend_string_extend function in Zend/zend_string.h in PHP through 7.1.5 does not prevent changes to string objects that result in a negative length, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) or possibly have unspecified other impact by leveraging a script's use of .= with a long string.
