CVE-2021-22569  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade SLES:15.3 libprotobuf20 to version 3.9.2-150200.4.19.2 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream libprotobuf20 package and not the libprotobuf20 package as distributed by SLES. See How to fix? for SLES:15.3 relevant fixed versions and status.

An issue in protobuf-java allowed the interleaving of com.google.protobuf.UnknownFieldSet fields in such a way that would be processed out of order. A small malicious payload can occupy the parser for several minutes by creating large numbers of short-lived objects that cause frequent, repeated pauses. We recommend upgrading libraries beyond the vulnerable versions.
