CVE-2022-38791  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-667  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade SLES:15.4 mariadb to version 10.6.10-150400.3.17.1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream mariadb package and not the mariadb package as distributed by SLES. See How to fix? for SLES:15.4 relevant fixed versions and status.

In MariaDB before 10.9.2, compress_write in extra/mariabackup/ds_compress.cc does not release data_mutex upon a stream write failure, which allows local users to trigger a deadlock.
