CWE-35  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade SLES:15.4 rsync to version 3.2.3-150400.3.17.1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream rsync package and not the rsync package as distributed by SLES. See How to fix? for SLES:15.4 relevant fixed versions and status.

A flaw was found in rsync. When using the --safe-links option, rsync fails to properly verify if a symbolic link destination contains another symbolic link within it. This results in a path traversal vulnerability, which may lead to arbitrary file write outside the desired directory.
