CVE-2024-46752  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade SLES:15.5 kernel-macros to version 5.14.21-150500.55.83.1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream kernel-macros package and not the kernel-macros package as distributed by SLES. See How to fix? for SLES:15.5 relevant fixed versions and status.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

btrfs: replace BUG_ON() with error handling at update_ref_for_cow()

Instead of a BUG_ON() just return an error, log an error message and abort the transaction in case we find an extent buffer belonging to the relocation tree that doesn't have the full backref flag set. This is unexpected and should never happen (save for bugs or a potential bad memory).
