CVE-2023-2861  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade SLES:15.5 qemu-sgabios to version 8-150500.49.6.1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream qemu-sgabios package and not the qemu-sgabios package as distributed by SLES. See How to fix? for SLES:15.5 relevant fixed versions and status.

A flaw was found in the 9p passthrough filesystem (9pfs) implementation in QEMU. The 9pfs server did not prohibit opening special files on the host side, potentially allowing a malicious client to escape from the exported 9p tree by creating and opening a device file in the shared folder.
