Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Improper Authentication in the SASL PLAIN authentication process. An attacker can gain unauthorized access to a locked account by providing valid credentials for that account, allowing continued access with the account's existing privileges even after it has been administratively locked. This is only exploitable if the account is locked without rotating its LDAP password.
This vulnerability can be mitigated by rotating the LDAP password when locking an account.
