The probability is the direct output of the EPSS model, and conveys an overall sense of the threat of exploitation in the wild. The percentile measures the EPSS probability relative to all known EPSS scores. Note: This data is updated daily, relying on the latest available EPSS model version. Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Command Injection via the LDAP editor process. An attacker can execute arbitrary commands with root privileges by crafting a malicious distinguished name (DN) containing shell metacharacters, which are embedded unescaped into a shell command string executed by a privileged operator when viewing the entry. This is only exploitable if an LDAP user has delegated create or rename privileges over a subtree and a privileged Cockpit operator subsequently views the crafted entry.
This vulnerability can be mitigated by restricting Cockpit 389 Console access to trusted administrators and limiting delegated LDAP add/rename privileges to trusted accounts.
