CVE-2026-48104  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-908  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade 7-zip to version 26.01 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Use of Uninitialized Resource in the SquashFS archive handler due to uninitialized memory in the _blockToNode array. An attacker can cause denial of service or potentially disclose heap information by providing a crafted SquashFS image that manipulates the RootInode superblock field to trigger out-of-bounds reads during directory parsing. This is only exploitable if the SquashFS handler is enabled and a malicious archive is opened.
