CVE-2024-43204  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-918  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade apache/httpd to version 2.4.64-rc1 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Server-side Request Forgery (SSRF) via the do_headers_fixup() in mod_headers. An attacker can cause the server to initiate outbound connections to attacker-controlled endpoints by supplying crafted values in the HTTP request that are used to modify the Content-Type header.

Note: This is only exploitable if both mod_proxy and mod_headers are enabled and mod_headers is explicitly configured to set or modify the Content-Type header using unvalidated user input, which is a non-default and uncommon server configuration.
