CWE-617  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade apache/httpd to version 2.4.64-rc1 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Reachable Assertion via the open_stream() when handling HTTP/0.9 requests. An attacker can cause the server to crash by sending specially crafted inputs from an untrusted client.

Note: This is only exploitable if the server is configured as a reverse proxy for an HTTP/2 backend with ProxyPreserveHost set to "on".
