Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Out-of-bounds Read in the fs/ext4/ext4_common.c process. An attacker can cause heap memory to be read beyond its allocated bounds by providing a crafted ext4 filesystem image via USB, SD card, or network boot, which may result in reading unintended disk offsets during boot-time filesystem parsing.
