Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Improper Validation of Specified Quantity in Input via the synth-from-dnssec process. An attacker can manipulate DNS responses to inject unauthorized records into the cache by exploiting a label count discrepancy in RRSIG records combined with wildcards. This is only exploitable if the resolver has synth-from-dnssec yes; enabled (which is the default).
