The probability is the direct output of the EPSS model, and conveys an overall sense of the threat of exploitation in the wild. The percentile measures the EPSS probability relative to all known EPSS scores. Note: This data is updated daily, relying on the latest available EPSS model version. Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Reachable Assertion via a specially crafted DNSSEC reply from an authoritative server. An attacker can cause the resolver to unexpectedly exit, resulting in disruption of DNS resolution services by sending malicious DNSSEC responses to the affected system. This is only exploitable if DNSSEC validation is enabled.
This vulnerability can be mitigated by disabling DNSSEC validation in the resolver configuration by setting dnssec-enable no; and dnssec-validation no; in the options block of the configuration file and restarting the service.
