Overview
Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Asymmetric Resource Consumption (Amplification) when processing data in the Additional section of DNS responses. Each request in RDATA triggers database lookups. An attacker can cause CPU exhaustion that blocks service to other clients either in the resolved, or potentially in the authoritative server by forcing large numbers of such lookups via malicious query.
Workaround
This vulnerability can be avoided by setting minimal-responses to yes.
