CWE-416  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade cesanta/mongoose to version 6.14 or higher.

Overview

cesanta/mongoose is a networking library for C/C++. It implements event-driven non-blocking APIs for TCP, UDP, HTTP, WebSocket, MQTT.

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Use After Free. An invalid write of 8 bytes due to a use-after-free vulnerability in the mg_http_free_proto_data_cgi function call in mongoose.c in Cesanta Mongoose Embedded Web Server Library 6.13 and earlier allows a denial of service (application crash) or remote code execution.
