Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Expired Pointer Dereference through SkiaImageDecoderBase::Decode in the PNG image decoder. An attacker can trigger it by supplying an animated PNG that partially decodes a frame, causes that frame’s pixel buffer to be cleared or reallocated, and then resumes incremental decoding of the same frame. The decoder can keep using a stale incremental-decode state and write into freed frame memory, leading to a renderer crash and potential memory corruption while the browser processes the image.
