CWE-190  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

A fix was pushed into the master branch but not yet published.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Integer Overflow or Wraparound in the memb_join_sanity() function. An attacker can cause the service to crash by sending specially crafted UDP packets to the affected service. This is only exploitable if the deployment is configured to use totemudp or totemudpu mode.

Workaround

This vulnerability can be mitigated by restricting network access to the cluster communication ports and configuring firewall rules to limit incoming UDP traffic to only trusted hosts within the cluster.
