Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Missing Release of Resource after Effective Lifetime via the IXFR query handling process. An attacker can exhaust available backend TCP connections or file descriptors by sending specially crafted IXFR queries, causing outgoing TCP connections to remain open until timeout and preventing legitimate requests from being processed.
