The probability is the direct output of the EPSS model, and conveys an overall sense of the threat of exploitation in the wild. The percentile measures the EPSS probability relative to all known EPSS scores. Note: This data is updated daily, relying on the latest available EPSS model version. Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling through manipulation of the Sieve process. An attacker can cause sustained CPU and disk resource consumption by repeatedly changing active scripts, which resets resource accounting and leaves behind compiled script files. This can lead to degradation of mail delivery service by exhausting system resources. This is only exploitable if the attacker has valid credentials and Sieve functionality is enabled.
This vulnerability can be mitigated by disabling the sieve plugin in the mail_plugins setting of the configuration, which will prevent exploitation but also disable user mail filtering capabilities. Administrators can also monitor system resources for abnormal CPU and disk usage related to Sieve processes.
