Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Man-in-the-Middle (MitM) due to the server forwarding and caching DNS queries with the CD (aka checking disabled) bit set to 1, leading to disabling of DNSSEC protection provided by upstream resolvers, allowing an attacker to hijack connections from clients of the vulnerable router/forwarder if they are able to inject DNS responses via another method (e.g. MitM attacks, BGP hijacking)
