Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to NULL Pointer Dereference due to the improper validation of shared subscription topics. An attacker can cause a crash by sending a specially crafted SUBSCRIBE topic (e.g. $share/ab)that is not strictly validated, leading to a NULL pointer increment and subsequent invalid memory access during message forwarding.
