Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Buffer Overflow in the TcpStatsdSink process when handling exceptionally long statistic names. An attacker can cause a heap buffer overflow by sending an HTTP or gRPC request with an extremely long request path, which is recorded by the grpc_stats filter when configured with stats_for_all_methods: true. This can result in a process crash or potentially allow remote code execution.
