Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Out-of-bounds Write via the avrc_vendor_msg function. An attacker can cause memory corruption, crashes, or other undefined behavior by sending specially crafted AVRCP vendor commands with a large payload that exceeds the allocated buffer size.
Note: The maintainers are also planning to include the fix in earlier versions, including 5.4.4, 5.3.5, 5.2.7, and 5.1.7; however, at the time of writing, those versions have not yet been released.
