CWE-863  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade EVerest/everest-core to version 2026.02.0-rc1 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Incorrect Authorization due to the iso_validate_response_code() function validation logic. An attacker can update the current context with illegitimate data and cause TCP/TLS server to shutdown, preventing EV from charging, by sending crafted ISO 15118-2 messages to the MQTT server, bypassing expected authentication checks.
