CWE-149  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade freebsd to version 13.5.0-p13, 14.3.0-p12, 14.4.0-p3, 15.0.0-p7 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Improper Neutralization via the BOOTP file field being written to the lease file without escaping embedded double-quotes. An attacker can execute arbitrary code as root by injecting malicious dhclient.conf directives through a rogue DHCP server, which are then evaluated when the lease file is re-parsed by dhclient.
