Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Stack-based Buffer Overflow due to improper validation of file descriptor values in the select process. An attacker can cause stack corruption and potentially escalate local privileges by forcing the allocation of large file descriptors and executing a program that does not properly close them upon startup. This is only exploitable if the target application is setuid-root.
