Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Command Injection through the bsdinstall or bsdconfig process when scanning for nearby Wi-Fi networks. An attacker can execute arbitrary commands as root by creating a Wi-Fi access point with a specially crafted network name and being within range during the scan. This is only exploitable if the user initiates a Wi-Fi scan using the affected installer or configuration utility.
