Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Stack-based Buffer Overflow via the setcred system call. An attacker can execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges by supplying an excessively long list of supplementary groups, which is copied into a fixed-size kernel stack buffer before proper bounds checking is performed. This allows an unprivileged local user to gain elevated privileges on the affected system.
