Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Improper Privilege Management due to the lack of a permission check in the thr_kill2 system call. An attacker can send arbitrary signals to processes they do not own, including those owned by other users or root, by guessing or brute-forcing process and thread IDs. This can allow stopping or terminating critical system processes, potentially disrupting system availability. This is only exploitable if the attacker has local access and can determine or guess valid process and thread IDs.
