Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Off-by-one Error via the drive redirection process. An attacker can access or modify files outside the intended shared directory by exploiting an off-by-one error in the path traversal filter when connecting to a malicious server with drive redirection enabled.
This vulnerability can be mitigated by avoiding connections to untrusted RDP servers with drive redirection enabled and by not using the /drive or /d command-line options in FreeRDP clients.
