Snyk has a proof-of-concept or detailed explanation of how to exploit this vulnerability.
The probability is the direct output of the EPSS model, and conveys an overall sense of the threat of exploitation in the wild. The percentile measures the EPSS probability relative to all known EPSS scores. Note: This data is updated daily, relying on the latest available EPSS model version. Check out the EPSS documentation for more details.

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Reachable Assertion via the emulated SCardStatusA implementation in libfreerdp/emu/scard/smartcard_emulate.c. When a connecting client has smartcard emulation enabled, a malicious RDP server can send an SCardStatusA request with fmszReaderNamesIsNULL=1, causing smartcard_StatusA_Call to pass a NULL reader-name destination to scard_copy_strings. That helper immediately executes WINPR_ASSERT(dst), which aborts the client process with SIGABRT in builds compiled with WITH_VERBOSE_WINPR_ASSERT=ON.
Note: This is only exploitable when the client connects to a malicious or compromised RDP server with smartcard emulation enabled, a valid emulated context and card handle have been established, and FreeRDP was built with WITH_VERBOSE_WINPR_ASSERT=ON.
