CVE-2013-0308  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-20  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade git/git to version 1.8.1.4 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Improper Input Validation. The imap-send command in GIT before 1.8.1.4 does not verify that the server hostname matches a domain name in the subject's Common Name (CN) or subjectAltName field of the X.509 certificate, which allows man-in-the-middle attackers to spoof SSL servers via an arbitrary valid certificate.
