CWE-122  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade glibc to version 2.39 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Heap-based Buffer Overflow when the ld.so process is manipulated. An attacker can execute code with elevated privileges by using maliciously crafted GLIBC_TUNABLES environment variables when launching binaries with SUID permission.

Note: This is only exploitable if the system does not have the Secure Boot feature enabled.
