Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Heap-based Buffer Overflow in the __vsyslog_internal() function. An unprivileged local user can elevate privileges under certain conditions, such as the presence of an argv[0] or openlog() ident argument longer than 1024 bytes, by preloading specially crafted directories and libraries in the target filesystem.
