Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Insecure Temporary File in the gzexe process when the mktemp utility is not available in the user's PATH. An attacker can overwrite arbitrary files by pre-creating a symbolic link at the predictable temporary file path, which is based solely on the process ID. This leads to a time-of-check to time-of-use (TOCTOU) condition, allowing the attacker to control the file that is overwritten.
