CVE-2026-23874  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-835  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade ImageMagick/ImageMagick to version 7.1.2-13 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Infinite loop in ProcessMSLScript. An attacker can cause the application to crash or become unresponsive by supplying a specially crafted Magick Scripting Language (MSL) file that triggers infinite recursion, resulting in a stack overflow.

Workaround

This vulnerability can be mitigated by restricting the ability to process Magick Scripting Language (MSL) files through a policy entry that disables the MSL coder in the ImageMagick policy file.
