Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Improper Validation of Specified Quantity in Input due to the improper handling of the space between the LUKS1 header and the encrypted data payload. An attacker can cause permanent loss of stored information by writing excessive metadata, which overwrites and corrupts encrypted data.

This is only exploitable if the attacker has root privileges and the system is using a LUKS1-encrypted partition.
