Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Out-of-bounds Read in the pickle parser process. An attacker can cause the application to crash or behave unexpectedly by supplying a crafted or truncated .ckpt file that triggers reads past the end of the metadata buffer. This is only exploitable if the application loads .ckpt files from untrusted sources.
This vulnerability can be mitigated by ensuring that only trusted .ckpt checkpoint files are loaded and by preferring safer formats such as .safetensors.
