Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Out-of-bounds Write via the GLOBAL opcode handler in the checkpoint file parser due to missing validation when searching for newline-delimited fields. An attacker can achieve heap corruption and potentially execute arbitrary code or cause application crashes by tricking a victim or application into loading a crafted .ckpt file from an untrusted source.
This vulnerability can be mitigated by avoiding the loading of .ckpt checkpoint files from untrusted sources and preferring trusted model sources or safer formats such as .safetensors.
