Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Buffer Access with Incorrect Length Value in the WebSocket frame processing when the max_incoming_payload_size is set to 0 or left unset. An attacker can cause memory disclosure or application instability by sending specially crafted WebSocket frames. This is only exploitable if the max_incoming_payload_size is explicitly set to 0 or is unset in the configuration.
This vulnerability can be mitigated by configuring the max_incoming_payload_size parameter to a non-zero value in applications utilizing WebSocket support.
