CVE-2026-5119  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-319  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade libsoup to version 3.7.1 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Cleartext Transmission of Sensitive Information in the process of establishing HTTPS tunnels through a configured HTTP proxy. An attacker can intercept sensitive session cookies by performing a man-in-the-middle attack or by controlling a malicious HTTP proxy, potentially leading to session hijacking or user impersonation.

Workaround

This vulnerability can be mitigated by ensuring that all HTTP proxies used for HTTPS tunnels are trusted and operate within a secure network. Avoid configuring applications to use untrusted HTTP proxies. If feasible, configure applications to bypass proxies for sensitive connections or utilize a secure proxy solution that encrypts the entire communication channel. A service restart or application reload may be required for changes to take effect.
